Scoops by Scrimshaw Cannabis

Bred by one of my personal favorite breeders, Scrimshaw cultivates this girl with Midcoast Maine love.

Welcome back my cannabis peeps, how is everyone’s weekend going?

It’s cold as fuck.

But hey, what can ya expect this time of year living in the Northeast? Why, you can expect frigid cold temperatures of course. Luckily, Maine’s got so much damn heat from the cannabis industry, that we will all stay nice and toasty this winter!

Enough about cold weather though, let’s talk about Scoops!

Scoops, cultivated by Scrimshaw in Rockland, ME and originally bred by (my fav) Exotic Genetics. She is going to be a hefty blend of Tina x Gelato x Cookies & Cream F2, two of those being Exotic originals (Tina + C&C). Scoops is read to be indica leaning, and to be quite honest with you that is as far as I’m really able to find on this delicious looking girl. However, I can share that she is officially a retired strain from Exotic and she does tend to be a heavy yielder.

Scrimshaw cultivated this beauty in oceanside Midcoast Maine! A buddy of mine from back home is working for them currently, and was so generous to gift me with these nugs. Props to you @MidcoastCannabis!

Nonetheless, we packed her up into a ZigZag cone and got this review going.

When I finally split open a nug, a nice subtle skunky and earthy sensation took over. The aromas from the jar itself were very subtle I will say. The initial smell I noticed was more on the hay side, I will also add. The cure was on it though, being a nice dryness but still having that soft texture to her. She grinds very well and is definitely a good joint flower!

Speaking of joints, how was she rolled up? Let’s discuss:

When smoked in a jib, Scoops gives a nice heavier smoke that I really didn’t find to be quite harsh. She showed off a nice silver ash trail, and burned very smoothly. However, I didn’t pick up on too many notes on the taste, perhaps slight earthy taste, but that is all ya girl could figure.

How’d she feel though? Scoops was definitely indica leaning, but not necessarily couch-locking. She had some uplifting hybrid attributes, without the overthinking. I really enjoy her for a midday smoke to help motivate my mental and relax my physical during work!

Overall, Scoops grown by Scrimshaw is going to receive a 7.5/10. I really wanted to go for the 8, but the aromas and tastes just weren’t as prominent as I usually prefer. The high, cure, and looks of the nugs themselves were fabulous and I’m so thankful I was gifted this sample.

I do hope y’all enjoyed reading, and feel free to hit the DM’s to share your thoughts if you’ve tried this strain also! Otherwise though, I do hope y’all are staying high on that local supply as always.

Cheers,
